Staff were welcoming and friendly
Noise all around the hotel. I had asked, and was given, a room with balcony on the third and last floor. Yet, the noise from the street and from inside the hotel, which hosts a pub on the ground floor, did not allow to rest until 3 A.M. each day. Also, the hotel ventilation system was not functioning properly and the food smell from the kitchen restaurant could make it all the way through my room. Also, unlike what stated on Booked.net at the moment when I made my booking, this hotel does not have a laundry service nor a proper room service. Overall, I think this hotel is overrated.
Best Location in Madrid...lots of great bars & restaurants nearby but not at all noisy. The room we stayed in was small but really beautiful. New, modern, comfortable, clean.....
Staff were really nice but maybe there should be a paging system to get in contact with them as they are not always at the desk.
Excellent location, close to plaza major and in the tapas street of Madrid
Room are too small and without window
clean room, free wifi, in the center of the city
the real great people working in a trendy place, that is really fun and different
The staff are wonderfull, very kind and helpfull, the room has an excelent design, the pillows are wonderfull. It´s located nearby the station and The Porta do sol e Plaza Mayor . You have lots of good restaurants and bars in the street of the hotel.
In spite of the good design and furniture, the is no window in the room.
Everyone that worked in the hotel was extremely helpful. The location was extraordinary.
During the night the rooms in the first floor were very noisy, because the hotel has a bar in the ground floor.
The room furnishings were very modern and initially really pleasing. We were one of the first guests at the newly refurbished hotel and so had a lovely initial welcome. The location is great for going out and seeing the main sites, as well as the Rastro. Great street in La Latina for eating out and bars. The hotel could be really good if more time and money is spent on the room facilities and services. The hotel also has a lovely bar with lots of atmosphere.
As the hotel had just opened, there was a lot of work still going on, with cables lying around in front of the lift, a small skip out the front, and lots of things missing from the service and facilities. The room had lots of minor things missing that added up to a slightly frustrating stay - no soap at the sink, the shower leaked all over the carpet, there was no tv remote in the room initially, the mini bar drinks all needed a bottle opener and none was provided, there were no drawers in the room for unpacking or storing smaller items, there was no cupboard - just a small rail, there was no "please do no disturb" sign and so Cleaning would just knock on the door meaning you'd have to get up to say you were still in the room. There was no welcome guide in the room and the room phone did not have any instructions on how to call Reception. We ended up having to go downstairs to ask for things. You can hear the cleaners most of the morning and there are no external windows to let in light - just narrow full length windows out onto the main walkway that offer no privacy and so you need to leave the blinds down. When we left the hotel we were not asked if we had had a good stay (just a simple "goodbye") or given any Suggestions form which you'd think they would be keen to receive given the hotel had just opened. Hopefully they will improve on all of these things with time, although having some "tester" guests could have resolved most of these before having paying guests. Quite a disappointing stay despite our initial excitement about the hotel.
The location is ideal, on a street full of tapas bars and with a nice view from our room with balcony, overlooking a church. From here there is walking distance to all places of interest in the city of Madrid, we didnt use the metro once. The staff is friendly and the lunch we had in the restaurant was very tasty. The room was comfortable and with hip design, and very well isolated from any noise. We will go back for sure for our next visit to Madrid. Dont miss the mercado de San Miguel near plaza mayor and a few minutes from the hotel, very nice market where you can try different kinds of tapas and drinks.
Not really, the toilet installation is maybe not the most comfortable in the world but there is no complaint that would stop me from going back.
Good location,very nice staff
Noisy,under construction,rather not intimate.nice design,but bad positioning of a window that acceses the hallway.no wardrobe,rather small rooms.
They we able to speak English when we were greated, which was generally rare for Madrid. Room was clean and modern. Great location in the heart of Madrid.
The location was absolutely perfect. Right in the heart of the La Latina tapas district and super close to the Plaza Mayor and the Puerto del Sol. The hotel is fairly new and is very hip. The rooms were super trendy and very comfortable. The restaurant in the hotel was also actually really good. And, finally, the staff was very helpful and guided us on things to do and also made reservations for us when necessary.
Comfortable bed, nice bar, interesting & historic building. Convenient for Plaza Mayor.
Breakfast service was rather "quirky" - menu only offered on 2nd morning, so guesswork needed! Charming staff, however, so it all added to the experience!
This is a typical 'boutique' or 'design' hotel where a lot of thought and expense had gone into the design. Not just for art's sake though, in terms of comfort too. Room had everything you could want and all quality - bed was excellent, bathroom a little novel but again not at the expense of functionality and quality which was again excellent and complimentary wi fi too. If you are into (Tapas) bars and nightlife this area is the place to be but such a billing needn't put off those normally wary of staying in such area's as the mood is very convivial and the busy area's can easily be avoided if you prefer. Also very near to the 'oldest restaurant in the world' (Botin) which despite what one might normally expect to be little more than a tourist trapping statement, is excellent both in terms of food quality and (friendly) service.
Because of the open 'atrium' type construction of the hotel the very lively bar at the foot of the 'atrium' could be the source of some noise but unless you are an extremely light sleeper and/or haven't tired yourself out sightseeing it is unlikley to be a significant bother - especially as the bed is of such high quality.
Great location. Bar downstairs was nice. Staff spoke English & were friendly. Free wifi.
Room was tiny & not suited for two friends travelling. The shower is fully viewable to the entire room so there is absolutely zero privacy. Even if I was travelling as a couple, I would not like this design. Price of room is quite high for what you get - you are paying mostly for location.
